Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is this week. I have come to love this holiday. For many years my God-Daughter Eva would spend the week with me here in Black Mountain, and we would work in the pottery studio, and only cook foods we both absolutely loved. This year I am celebrating finally being back in my home, AND the arrival of my parents, who moved to Black Mountain a few years ago, and were gracious enough to let me live in their house this past year while they stayed up in Maine where I grew up. We are planning a large feast with friends and neighbors.

This is always a busy time as a potter. I have been making a lot of serving-dishes for people to use on Thanksgiving, and all year. Deviled Egg Trays! Serving Trays! Large Serving Bowls. I love it. And of course I am gearing up for Christmas and winter gifting. The store will be closed on Thanksgiving, and then open and shining with sparkly lights Friday morning. On Saturday (Shop Small Saturday) I will have fresh gluten free donuts from Dough House to share with everyone who makes a purchase, until supplies run out.

Much love to all, and may we each find time to focus on what we are grateful for this week.

p.s. This photo is from a couple of weeks ago when the weather turned cold. Since then its been balmy again.
