Last week while I was working in my store, Greg, our friend and former business neighbor ( Pellom’s Time Shop sold), brought in shortbread cookies that he baked for me and Elisabeth. I thanked him heartilly, and then did something I rarely do - which was to tell him that I can’t digest gluten, so I would save them for Elisabeth. I was truly touched he baked cookies for us and meant nothing by reminding him I couldn’t eat them. I’m not even sure why I said it. But two days later - Greg came back when he knew I was in the store - with gluten-free shortbread that he made for me. Whoa! I was and continue to be so moved. And I also decided to put together a hilariously rushed gluten free cookie swap for anyone else local who is missing out on the diversity of holiday cookies this year. ❤️
